New Delhi, 11th February 2010 – The Embassy of France in India is pleased to present "Mots Transparents words” :
The launch of a very original, well illustrated book at the Residence of the Ambassador of France, 11th February 2010 at  7:00 pm. To enhance  the remarkable design of this book Ritu Beri has agreed to grace the evening as chief guest.  Who else but Ritu, the first Indian fashion designer to show on the catwalks of Paris and who speaks superb French to endorse this bilingual endeavour ?

As a part of the festival “Bonjour India”, the Embassy of France in India, in collaboration with Goyal Publishers & Distributors, launches " Mots Transparents words” a book which presents a collection of common words, also called transparent words, in selected domains, between English and French. This book is an homage to all those who accept this common heritage of  both  languages which reinforces the mutual comprehension once more between France and India. From architecture to wagon, English speakers already know thousands of French words!

“I am very pleased to launch a bilingual French English book as part of Bonjour India – Festival of France in India. The book aims to provide a better understanding of our language and culture, highlighting the similarities between English and French languages. The launch will be one of the marking events of this final week of Bonjour India. We are thinking of sharing this unique book with our cultural network worldwide in order to promote the French language” Said, H.E. Mr. Jerome Bonnafont, Ambassador of France to India.
